Facility Precautions

What time should I arrive?

Please arrive before 3:00 p.m. at the latest. Not only is there an increased risk of lightning on the ridge line in the afternoon, but also, if you are not prepared, your climbing plan tends to lead to serious accidents due to being stuck in the event of an emergency.

Are there any traces in mountain in winter season?

Use of crampons and ice axes may be necessary depending on snow conditions and personal skills. Especially on the Mitsumata route, slip and fall fatalities occur every year from May to June. There is usually snow just below the ridge line until early July. Please come equipped to handle any conditions. Also, if it looks like you will not be able to descend the route you are climbing on your way back, please be brave and turn back.

Are there showers and bathrooms and Wi-fi available?

There are no baths or showers. There is a washbasin for washing your face and brushing your teeth, but water is very precious on the mountain, so please help us conserve water.

Is there a bus route between the Mimata parking lot and the nearest train station?

The only public transportation to the Mitsumata trailhead is by taxi. Also, cell phone reception is poor at the Mitsumata trailhead. So please call the taxi company before descending the mountain.

Do you sell drinking water?

We sell it at a flat rate of 200 yen/1L, regardless of whether you stay overnight, stay in a tent, or take a day trip.
